Javier Gomez, Portuguese Quartier curator and president of JG Home Living

“In 2016, during a sourcing trip to Portugal for JG Home Living, Javier Gomez was impressed by the artistry of Portuguese-made products. He was intrigued by the notion that Portugal had been producing for leading brands worldwide, yet the value of Portuguese design and manufacturing had gone largely under the radar, especially in the US market. Feeling moved by the craftmanship and inspired by this knowledge gap, Javier began collaborating in the Portuguese furniture and textile sectors to produce a uniquely curated furniture line.

As a current Portuguese resident, Javier remains driven to tap into the potential that thrives in Portuguese design, manufacturing, and lifestyle. It is through this dedicated passion project that Portuguese Quartier came to fruition.
